Support Climate Bills in the California State Legislature

SB-100: California Renewables Portfolio Standard Program: emissions of greenhouse gases
Join Acterra in supporting SB100 to accelerate the transition to the use of clean energy in our state. Assemblymember Evan Low is undecided about SB100 - write to him and tell him why you think it's important.

SB 1477: Low-emissions buildings and sources of heat energy The commission shall develop a statewide market development initiative to advance the state’s market for low-emission space and water heating equipment for new and existing residential and nonresidential buildings. Incentives will be based on the projected reduction in GHG.

SB 834: State lands: leasing: oil and gas and AB 1775: leasing: oil and gas In response to the Trump administration’s plans to allow more offshore oil drilling, these companion bills would prohibit any further offshore oil drilling within California’s three-mile underwater coastal zone. It would also ban any pipelines or other means of conveying oil through this coastal zone onto the shore of California.

AB 3232: Zero-emissions buildings and sources of heat energy This bill requires that the Energy Commission assess the state’s opportunities for reducing emissions from buildings by at least 40 percent below 1990 levels by 2030, with a focus on strategies to reduce emissions from space heating and water heating.

AB 1884: Food facilities: single-use plastic straws This bill would prohibit a food facility, where food may be consumed on the premises, from providing single-use plastic straws to consumers unless requested by the consumer. Half a billion plastic straws are thrown away every day. What a waste!
