Acterra invites residents of East Palo Alto and Belle Haven to participate in a community meeting to discuss the future of the Bay Area. This will be a time to share your thoughts on possible policies and investments to make the Bay Area more affordable, connected, diverse, healthy, and vibrant. In a two-hour workshop, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) will share a set of transportation, housing, economic, and resilience strategies that are being considered to position our region for success. During the workshop, you will be asked to provide input on some of the strategies, for example:
o Provide free transit for all low-income residents
o Permit additional housing development near transit stations
o Invest into job training programs at community colleges
o Construct sea walls to protect from rising sea levels
Your input will be incorporated in MTC/ABAG’s Horizon long-range planning process, which will ultimately lead to a new regional blueprint for the Bay Area – we look forward to hearing your thoughts!
