Here are the web references for the transportation chapter of the Green Teams. These links are layed out in the same order as in the
transportation chapter and include most if not all the URLs mentioned in the workbook, plus many additional links . Please let me know

Green Step 1: The Transportation Audit
For those of you that are into the numbers, here is an excel spreadsheet to help
you with the transportation audit. Remember, no cheating. Fill out the before sheet before you take any transit actions. This will also
give you the best before and after numbers.
Green Step 2: Share a Ride
511 Rideshare for Bay Area Commuters can match you up with others that want to share a ride - carpool,
Van pool, bike ride or bike/carpool. You can match for the whole week or just one day; whatever works best for you. They have info on carpools
to BART and even carpools for skiing. Check it out.
Employer Ride share information Rides also has information for employers
to promote ride sharing and what incentives are available.
East Bay Casual Carpooling East Bay commuters use casual carpools
to make use of carpool lanes and cross the Bay bridge for free. Check the web site for pick up and drop off points
Greenbelt Alliance Outings Greenbelt outings are hikes, bike
rides and tours that provide a fun way to become acquainted with Bay Area open space. They also offer tours of urban areas
that showcase good examples of infill development, affordable housing, transit-oriented development, and urban revitalization
in existing Bay Area communities.

Bay Area Travel Guide This web site has it all: public transit, ride sharing, traffic reports,
trip planning, bicycling and more. It is a web site and a phone number - 511. Find out information on FasTrack, TransLink,
Carsharing and more.
Bay Area Travel Guide - Transit This web site is similar to the one above but
focuses on public transit: schedules, rout maps, fares, trip planning and more.

California Transit Links For a complete listing of all transit services
in California, this is the web site. It includes links to bus, trains, ferries, light rail, shuttle services and more.
Take transit to Recreation Leave the car at home and take transit
to your favorite place. This web site lists popular destinations for recreation that you can get to on public transit.
Transportation and Land Use Coalition Get more involved. TALC is a partnership
of over 90 groups working for a sustainable and socially just Bay Area. We envision a region with healthy, vibrant, walkable
communities that provide all residents with transportation choices and affordable housing. TALC analyzes county and regional
policies, works with community groups to develop alternatives, and coordinates grassroots campaigns.
Metropolitan Transportation Commission The MTC is the transportation planning,
financing and coordinating agency for the nine-county Bay Area. All state and federal spending plans for transportation
must be coordinated by the MTC.
Urban Ecology uses urban design, land use planning and policy reform to help
people plan and build communities that are ecologically healthy, socially just, and economically fair.

Bay Area Bicycling Transit Guide Here you will find route maps, locations
of lockers and racks, information on how to take your bike on public transit and across Bay Area toll bridges, how
to ride safely in traffic, tips on commuting, bicycle resources and more.
Bicycling Coalitions This web page lists bike coalitions
though out the Bay Area that acts for bicycle education and advocacy, dealing with broad issues that increase the
use of bicycles for transportation and recreation.
City Carshare Car-sharing allows you to use a car when you need it without
incurring the fixed costs of ownership. City CarShare provides a network of vehicles parked in neighborhoods throughout
San Francisco, the East Bay, and the Peninsula.

Drive Clean has lots of info on electric, hybrid,

Green Step 9: Spare the Air
Spare the Air Good information about air pollution, its
health effects, pollution prevention, personal clean air tips, and a variety of other educational resources.
You can also sign up for notification of Spare the Air days and what to do about them.
Bay Area Air Quality Management District The BAAQMD has more
information than you will ever want to know about air quality and regulations in the Bay Area.
Vehicle Buy Back Program On of the best ways to clean up the air
is to get rid of the worst offenders, older cars. If you car a 1985 or older model in working condition you may be able to get $650 for it
from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. Follow the above link to find out more.
