High Level Volunteers Wanted at Acterra!

Are you resolved to be more active this year to preserve our environment? Come talk with us! Acterra is expanding our programs. and we're looking for some high level volunteers: people with initiative who want to make a difference, learn new things − and meet some great new friends, too!

Lead a one-hour introductory Low Carbon Diet workshop. Train others to lead LCD workshops and make presentations.

Talk to businesses and community groups about hosting Low Carbon Diet Workshops.

Research and identify potential foundation and corporate grants. Help write fundraising proposals.

Research and organize information on environmental jobs and green careers for Acterra's Library/Resource Center.

Lead others in outdoor habitat restoration. Get trained to be a volunteer Team Leader at the Arasterdero Preserve Project.

Organize activities (movie nights? discussions? hikes or picnics?) for alumni of Acterra's Be the Change program.

Put on a "Cool It!" party at our office (or a location of your choice) for Acterra members and friends to show people how to use our website's carbon calculator.

Create web-based materials for the Cool Campaign so that this program can be expanded to other community organizations, faith groups and schools.

Organize Family Movie Nights for families with young children.

Coordinate an environmental book discussion group.

Help our volunteer webmaster keep our website up to date; expand the capabilities and reach of Acterra's website

Support Acterra's Executive Director and/or Associate Director with a couple hours of weekly phone calls, research, filling.

Spread the word about Acterra's programs by staffing information tables at community events, "environmental fairs," etc.

Learn how to do a home energy audit as part of the Green&Home project, in which volunteers help local residents save energy and reduce household CO2 emissions.

Create a power point presentation about the Green&Home project.

Take photos or videos of Acterra's programs, events and volunteers.

Join Acterra
