Juniper employees enjoy a wide range of transportation programs, from mass transit subsidies to telecommuting programs to financial incentives,
which helped the company achieve over 24% trip reduction in 2007 and exceed the City of Sunnyvale's requirement. The company provides EcoPasses
free of charge, so their employees can have unlimited rides on VTA buses and light rail throughout Santa Clara County, and offers subsidies
toward purchasing their Caltrains transit pass. With the help of AlterNet Rides the company also assists employees with online carpool matching
making finding a carpool buddy easier. The company uses its own secure remote access solutions to enable employees to telecommute to further
reduce commute congestion. Onsite amenities include an atm machine, dry cleaning, dentist, fitness center and masseuse to help employees complete
errands without going offsite.
Quarterly promotional transportation activities include awareness fairs, hybrid vehicle test drives, and a lunchtime bike ride on Bike-to-Work
day that has fast become a yearly tradition. Regular bicycle commuters are provided with shower rooms, bike racks, and monthly credits toward
cafeteria purchases to fuel up for their rides.
In addition to its internal promotions, Juniper founded and continues to provide ongoing leadership to the Moffett Park Business Transportation
Association to help other companies replicate their efforts. Their onsite Employee Transportation Coordinator (ETC) works with other ETCs in
Moffett Park on a monthly basis to discuss upcoming events and share transportation news. Juniper's leadership through the MPBTA also resulted
in approval of the Borregas Bike Bridge, a bicycle overpass for Highways 101 and 237 which is now under construction and will provide safe, dedicated
bicycle and pedestrian access to the Moffett Park area.
