ABOUT THE PROJECT

Palo Alto's Pearson Arastradero Preserve is a 622-acre open space preserve in the Palo Alto foothills. Acterra is in the eleventh year of a unique collaborative effort with the City of Palo Alto to act as stewards of the preserve.

Thousands of dedicated volunteers, together with Acterra staff restore habitat, install native plants, remove invasive species, and otherwise work together to increase biodiversity on the Preserve.

Early Fall is a special time on Pearson-Arastradero Preserve

In the early evening hours as the heat radiates away, a quiet listener will notice quails cooing to their coveys, kites whistling and clicking at competitors, and perhaps the belching and rustling of deer in rut. It's fall!

Please come to a Saturday Restoration Day to help preserve this beautiful ecosystem that we all love. View event calendar.

Or click here for more information on how you protect Nature's quixotic and enchanting variety without ever leaving your own home!

Fall guided hikes, planting season, berries in the brush, migrating birds, and other treasures; it truly is a wonderful time to come out and visit Pearson-Arastradero Preserve.
